Tsu nods once again and then lets out a sigh. She crosses her arms over her chest, leaning back into her chair as her eyes flicker back over to you. She then frowns slightly, noting the small, sad smile on your face.
— “Are you… really doing okay? I know you say that you’re feeling better, but I really want to make sure.”
You take a moment to gather your thoughts, feeling the weight of her concern. Tsu has always been the type to see through the surface, and her genuine care makes you want to be honest.
“Honestly, it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster,” you admit, your voice soft. “Some days are better than others. I’m trying to focus on the positives, but it’s hard sometimes. I appreciate you checking in on me, though. It means a lot.”
Tsu uncrosses her arms, leaning forward slightly, her expression shifting to one of empathy. “You don’t have to put on a brave face for me. It’s okay to not be okay. Just know that I’m here for you, no matter what.”
You nod, feeling a warmth spread through you at her words. “Thank you, Tsu. I really do appreciate it. It helps to talk about it, even if it’s just a little.”
She smiles softly, her eyes reflecting understanding. “Anytime. We can talk about anything you want, or we can just sit in silence. Whatever you need.”
You take a deep breath, feeling a little lighter. “Maybe just sitting together for a bit would be nice.”
“Sounds perfect,” she replies, settling back into her chair, the atmosphere between you both shifting to one of quiet companionship.
